| Welcome to the e-Skin lab.
"Our own skin and hair is the largest organ of the human body: a tactile reactive interface which special metaphorical connotations of communication and sensitivity." M. Lappe and J. Holt. "The ability of the skin to acquire and process information rivals our senses of sight and hearing." The e-Skin lab is a transdisciplinary group of designers and engineers exploring new ways in which technologies can expand tactile solutions. e-Skin is a research initiative to create an interface based on the modalities of the human skin (temperature, vibration, pressure, proprioception). The lab is forming a consortium of corporate and governmental partners to support and benefit from this development.
Please see the research section on this site for more information on the lab's research activities and how to become involved as a partner.
